Our history...
8853 S.p.A. was created from a tradition that has its roots in the fifties, when Mario Villa, a visionary Milanese entrepreneur, founded the first metals bank in the city. In a renaissance Italy, in a period of great economic and social transformation, Mario Villa's activity stood out for its reliability and competence, becoming a reference point for the purchase and sale of precious metals.

After Mario Villa, the company was led by his son Giorgio Villa, who modernised the company while maintaining traditional values. He founded O.L.E.P. S.r.l. for the trade of precious alloys in the dental sector. His son Oliviero and his daughter Rachele Villa are now involved in the company's management: Oliviero deals with the purchase and sale of gold and precious metals while Rachele is Head of Human Resources and Sustainability.

Our target audience includes all persons who need to quickly recover the raw material contained within spent, used or scrap and waste products, returning the precious raw material contained to its original state with high purity and ready to be used again, or in the form of semi-finished products.We are also the trusted partner for all those companies seeking to sell surplus stock, scrap or used products containing gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium, to create immediate realisation at transparent prices and to return to cash-flow availability

We love transparency, which has therefore led us to choose to let our customers enter the foundry to witness the transformation of the precious assets conferred, giving them the opportunity to take a sample to be checked to verify that the information provided corresponds to reality.
Finally, in addition to the UNI EN ISO 9001 certification that guarantees the quality system of 8853 SPA's operational activities, we also have a voluntary certification for sustainability and responsibility (RJC COP+COC) in order to reassure the final consumer on the soundness of the robust commercial practices put in place. This latter factor assumes a decisive role as there is an obligation to ensure sustainability to the entire supply chain connected to the goldsmith sector and to the processing of gold and precious metals.
Banco Villa is one of the 850 RJC members, the Responsible Jewellery Council, a non-profit organisation that brings together companies that respect the entire supply chain, from mining to retail. As RJC members we are committed to complying with the Code of Practice, which is a regulation that addresses a wide range of topics, from human rights to labour rights, from environmental impact to mining practices, while also ensuring responsible sourcing.
If initially this certification was on a voluntary basis, from 1 January 2021 it will be a requirement enshrined in European laws, to curb the trade in gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten that sometimes finance armed conflicts or are extracted by exploiting forced labour and human rights.
Our company is unique in Italy, as for the customer we offer the advantage of working with a partner with professional experience gained over many years, able to offer an all-round service from the sale and management of raw materials to regeneration and recovery of the same, ensuring precious alloy products to guarantee final products of excellence.
We buy and sell precious metals, perform goldsmith and used precious metal melting, analyse metal alloys, recover metals and related processing waste and produce semi-finished products for artisanal and industrial uses.
